Arizona store closures — October 2026

Between Sept. 26 and Oct. 24, our weekly checks found 275 stores that 44 chains removed from their own online store locators, across 42 states.

The brands are not filing; their operators are. Twenty-six franchisee bankruptcy filings by 21 operators this year across Popeyes, Applebee's, Subway, Hardee's, Carl's Jr., Wendy's, Denny's, Village Inn and more, every one anchored to a court docket.

Twelve US building-products distributors, sawmills, cabinet plants, tile and window manufacturers closed or filed this year across 15 states, while Lowe's and Home Depot cut at head office instead of closing stores.

We can now name 190 of the U.S. cafes, across 31 states and Washington, D.C., up from 147 when this page was first published. Many closed the weekend of September 26.

Leslie's, the Phoenix-based pool and spa supply chain, filed for Chapter 11 in Houston on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. We can name 46 of the closing stores, in California, Texas, Arizona and Connecticut.

Three T.J. Maxx stores have closed or been reported closing in 2026. That is not a closure program.

We count 82 trucking companies that filed in 2026, from one-truck operators to regional fleets with more than a hundred trucks.

The cutbacks reach from the largest winemaker in the country to single tasting rooms. We count 31 wine producers so far this year, 16 of them in California.

Staples' wholesale arm is closing eight sites on or about October 3, its Illinois headquarters included, covering 1,278 jobs. Every figure sits on a state WARN notice.

Haynes Furniture's outlet brand said on September 10, 2026 it will close Tempe, Atlanta, Lombard, Deerfield, Houston and Irving; the Virginia stores stay. Addresses and status for each.
