Leslie's is closing stores in Chapter 11. We can name 46 of them
Leslie's, the Phoenix-based pool and spa supply chain, filed for Chapter 11 in Houston on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The company said it will close 76 stores as part of a restructuring agreement with its lenders; coverage of the filing also reported 11 stores closed on September 30. We can name 46 of the closing stores, in California, Texas, Arizona and Connecticut. The rest of the chain stays open.
Why Leslie's filed
In its court filings, Leslie's said the pool industry slowed after pandemic-era demand cooled, while inflation, higher interest rates, weaker consumer spending, unfavorable weather and competition from big-box and online retailers hurt its business, the Houston Chronicle reported. It also said its debt load strained liquidity.
Leslie's listed more than $1.2 billion in debt in its petition. Its agreement with lenders would cut about $685 million, or about 90% of its outstanding debt, and leave those lenders as the majority owners when the company comes out of bankruptcy, which it expects in early 2027. "Leslie's is here to stay," chief executive Jason McDonell said.
Where they are
| State | Stores named | Cities |

| Connecticut | 1 | Derby |
In Texas, reporting on the court papers identified 18 Texas leases in the round, eight of them in the Houston area. We can name all eight Houston-area stores and seven in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Derby, CT store has already closed, the New Haven Register reported.
Coverage says California, Florida and Texas account for the largest share of the closures. We have not yet found a source that names the Florida stores. They will be added here when one does.
Dates
Most sources give no closing date for individual stores. Coverage of the filing said 11 stores closed on September 30 and the 76 would close over the following two weeks. A date is printed for a store only where a source states one.
What we counted
We count stores named in local coverage or in reporting on the court filings. Where two outlets name the same store, we count it once. Leslie's had already closed about 80 underperforming stores and a distribution center between November 2025 and January 2026, before the filing; those closings are not part of this list.
This page will grow as more stores are named. Each update will be dated in the changelog below.
