18 Amazon delivery contractors closed or filed for bankruptcy in 2026

Amazon contracts much of its package delivery to small companies in its Delivery Service Partner program. In 2026, at least 18 of these contractors have closed or filed for bankruptcy, across 12 states. Most showed up one at a time, in a state layoff notice or a local news story. Five more closings are still ahead, in Littleton, MA; Colonie, NY; Rochester, NY; Culver City, CA; and Medford, OR. The 16 closings account for more than 1,400 jobs, using the figure each notice states.

Why they are closing

The sources tell two different stories about who made the call.

Some contractors chose to leave. Amazon said of Duality Ventures in Williamsport, MD: "Duality Ventures, LLC made the decision to exit the Delivery Service Partner program," the Herald-Mail reported.

Others say the decision came from Amazon. 2 EZY LLC in Airway Heights, WA wrote to the state: "We only learned of this action from our only client, Amazon, in the last business day. This was unforeseeable," KHQ reported.

Two contractors filed for Chapter 11: Patriot DSP in Texas and CLJ Transporting in Auburndale, FL.

Rising fuel costs come up in one report. Newsweek placed 230 layoffs at a San Antonio, TX contractor, which is not closing, within "a wave of layoffs amid the fuel surge." That's one outlet's framing of one layoff, not a cause the other sources give.

One more closing, in Massachusetts, is in the count but isn't listed, because its only source is too thin to name the company on.

What we counted

We count companies that the source describes as an Amazon delivery service partner or as a contractor that delivers for Amazon, and that closed, announced a closing, or filed for bankruptcy in 2026. Each company is counted once. Layoffs without a closing and relocations are left out, as are cases where the closing year isn't clear. A closing date is printed only where a source states one, and job figures are the ones each notice or report gives.

This is a floor, not a total. Some contractors close without a notice or a news story, and at least one report mentions a contractor closing that we don't yet hold. We don't have a count of all Amazon delivery contractors, so we can't give a rate.

This page will be updated as more closings are recorded. Each update will be dated in the changelog below.
